About VILA DO abraão
Vila do Abraão is the main point of arrival for visitors arriving at Ilha Grande. A charming place, with a tropical climate and total structure for those who want to know this wonder of Rio de Janeiro.
It is in Abraão that most of the inns and lodgings, campsites, beach houses and suites for rent, restaurants, shops with craft stores and agencies for tours, sea crossing and diving are located. For this reason, Vila do Abraão is known as the “capital of Ilha Grande”.
The impression, for those arriving at Abraão for the first time, is that time has stopped … There are no cars circulating, only boats taking tourists on incredible tours.
In addition to the infrastructure, Vila do Abraão offers visitors places full of beauty and history such as the Lazareto and the Aqueduct, delicious waterfalls (dos Escravos and Feiticeira), the calm beaches of the Abraão cove (Morcego, Abraãozinho, Guaxuma, Crena, Comprida , Bica, Julia, Canto and Preta) and the small square where the São Sebastião church is located.
It is important to note that:
- In Vila do Abraão there are NO banks or cashiers around the clock, only the corresponding CAIXA HERE.
- The crossing from the mainland to the village can be done through Saveiros, Fast Boat, Barca or private boats.
- In Abraão there is a 24 hour health post, DPO (military police), fire department, Lan Houses (internet), handicraft and clothing stores, post office, locksmith, newsagent and pharmacy.
- As it is not allowed to drive in Ilha Grande (except the officers), your vehicle must be on the mainland.
