1 – Who can benefit from the classes?

Everyone willing to develop his pedagogy in Brazilian Zouk or willing to learn techniques, fundaments and the methodology used by Alex de Carvalho.

2 – 5 modules / 80 hours, is it enough to make me a good teacher?

The classes mean to guide in a clear and objective way the following aspects of the Brazilian Zouk dance: physical, technical, moral and ethical, those are directly linked to the student/teacher relationship and allow the student to progress.

For the candidates taking the classes it is necessary to continuously train the teachings received during the 80 hours of classes which will be given every two months.

The final examination will tell if the candidate is able to receive the certificate MAC Approved.

3- By getting the certificate will I be able to teach advanced level classes?

The program contains a series of fundaments and techniques generally applied to Brazilian Zouk. The topics are of an advanced level, but experience is also required to teach advanced level classes. We advise to use the contents for teaching beginner level classes.

4 – Can I take only the first module?

Yes, each module has specific topics and will give you contents in different domains inside the dance. However if you wish to take the final examination to get the certificate it is MANDATORY to take all modules.

5 – Is the objective of the classes to train better dancers or better instructors?

The classes are focused in to understand the brazilian zouk dance. Those include: Managing people, order of movements, perceptions, body language, controlling fear, physical integrity, etc. They have nothing to do with being a good dancer. Being a good dancer had nothing to do with being a good instructor or a good choreographer.

 6 – Who are the instructors of the practical classes?

They are all intructors trained in the Centro de Danças Alex de Carvalho in Rio de Jaineiro, Brazil, recorded in 2021.

7 – Who are the speakers?

They are professional researchers, musicians, osteopaths, physiotherapists, psychologists, dance instructors, personal trainers and dancers able to pass on their knowledge, stored on Podia platform.

8 – Can I take the modules and decide afterwards if I want to take the final examination?

Yes. The price of the examination if 150 euros. We advise you to purchase the full MAC package, it includes the 5 modules, the program, 10 parties, the examination, the certificate and the permission to use the methodology (under condition of approval during the examination).

9 – If I fail the examination can I take it again?

Yes, there will be a second opportunity for those not validating their exams the first time the following month for an extra cost of 100 euros.

10 – What other advantages will the participants have?

Other than the MAC certificate, the candidate will permanently have his name on the website so his certificate can be validated. They will also benefit of 50% discount on a list of congresses with MAC partnership.

11 – Can I film the module?

Yes, you can.

 12 – How is the theoretical exam?

50 questions are prepared by all the speakers in one exam, 75% of correct answers is required to validate the exam.

13 – What is the language of the program?

The entire program will be available in 3 languages: Portuguese, French and English. Classes and lectures in English, with the help of a simultaneous translator in French if necessary. Theoretical evaluation in English and French.

14 – Can I use the information I get from the classes to teach without the MAC certificate?

All the knowledge acquired during the program if for personal use only. Professional use, advertising and general usage of this knowledge is limited to the holders of the MAC certificate.
